This is one the most beautiful of the books on my felting shelf. The projects all share their contemporary nature, which I love, but from there the techniques and the types of projects spin out into so many different directions. Both home decore and wearables are represented here. A group of floating felted poppies suspended from a ceiling evoke Chihuly's wild use of color and organic shape; while a pair of Scandinavian books wth Hungarian flair has me looking for shoe soles. A butterfly cape takes my breath away and a primitive patterned tote has me checking my roving supply. I highly recommend this book for anyone with a love of contemporary styled projects and a desire to examine felt in many different techniques and projects.

This is a pretty good book with some really beautiful projects and photos. There is one project in the book that I feel did not have all of the steps listed. For a beginner some of the steps my not make sense. I did have to go to a friend to clarify some steps for a project and it turns out that the particular project was not as clear as it could have been. Otherwise the book has been very useful.

Get this is one of the best books for felting and how to do it. I also loved the style of the felts and the colors but there is no section on color theory so that you get a balanced design....So, if you want to take it a step further with color and the balance of color...This book is a great book to understand and enter into the market. I bought the whole series and read them from cover to cover. This is not for the advanced student, but the beginner.I also think that fashion designers should have a thorough understanding of color theory, which is really not taught that much or well. It is also a very complex subject to learn and understand. BUT!!!!! There is hope!!!if you want to know about Color theory to get even better....COLOR WORKS, the crafter Guide to Color by Deb MenzFOR ANYONE who wants to know about Color Theory this test breaks it down so that ANYONE can understand this subject. I learned more about color theory in this book than all others put together because I now "Understand" the concept.While this book is for the textile artist, ALL artists should get it and is also has cut outs to use when choosing your colour palette whether it be for Fashion Design or Art.This book is a MUST HAVE!!!!

It contains a wide range of techniques and projects. HAving felting experience is a plus for following the directions because I have a feel for what is being described.
