I bought this for my 6 year old son who loves cooking and am very disappointed. There are no pictures of the food and it is all black and white. Not appealing at all for a kid much less an adult like myself. If it wasn't from "Santa", I'd be returning it.
This cookbook is excellent! I read a lot of reviews for different books prior to purchasing this one for my 10 year old daughter. This is a great cookbook! The directions are easy to follow and they are really tasty. I don't think there's been anything that hasn't been good so far! It's paperback and a good size for her to manage when she's cooking.
Bought this for my 10 year old for Easter. She LOVES to cook and this has been a good introductory book for her to be able to complete a full recipe without any help from me. So far all the recipes she has done are simple with few ingredients so the prep and clean-up aren't overwhelming for her either. The Chocolate chocolate chip cookies are our favorite
The recipes are wonderful and directions are clear and concise. However, it needs photos of each recipe/product! Being a kids cookbook I would think photos would be a prominent feature, but they are not.
My 8 year old granddaughter and I had a lot of fun cooking from this book. I made notes in it and dated the items we cooked so she would have it later in life.
My stepdaughter LOVES this book to the point that now she likes cooking. I would buy it again a million times. I think it's great for kids (she is 10 years old). I would still supervise while kids do this but it teaches them to do things more than many adults can do, so it's worth it!
Bought this for my niece who likes to cook. We have a copy ourselves and I think it is a very good cookbook for kids--the recipes turn out good and there is a nice variety. The recipes are very kid-friendly. There is even a recipe for homemade tomato soup! I have use the mac and cheese and the double choc cookie recipes several times myself. There are lots of good tips for kids, too. I wish I had had this cookbook when I was growing up!
This was a gift for my 8 year old son who asked for a cookbook for Christmas. We have enjoyed making several recipes together, although some he can do mostly by himself. It’s all fairly simple with basic ingredients. Cute little games and fun facts throughout it as well.
