About the Author

Jim Pratt is an amateur photographer; a forest research scientist by profession, he has made a photographic record of much of Sue's work over the past 25 years. Sue White-Oakes trained as an industrial designer before taking up sculpture and painting in 1975. She now sculpts in copper using a process akin to silversmithing, and has a passion for representing animal forms in her chosen medium. She exhibits widely and her sculptures are featured in private collections around the world. Her work can be seen at the Lost Gallery in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire.

While I may never get around to copper sculpture, there are many techniques that I do use for jewelry. The book and the examples are inspirational, and well worth owning.

Really a great book on this subject. Author is a truly talented copper artist.

I liked the book -- it had plenty of pictures and projects that build in complexity from one to the next. It is hard to find books that cover metal sculpture, and this one is a good beginner volume.

photos are amazing what a great book.

It has good information for what things it covers but did not address what I was looking for. I am wanting to learn how to form copper sheeting into shapes (leaves and flowers mostly) to use in tap-top water fountains.

Full of excellent information, processes, and awesome photos. A must-have book for new or experienced copper artists. Love the detailed shots showing the steps involved, and the peeks into the artist's studio.
