There is alot of information here. For that I would give it 5 stars. The organization that went into meal planning and grocery lists is very helpful. The reintroduction of foods is spot on, and in agreement with what I've read from many other sources on finding foods you are reactive to. If you have migraines now and then, this could help you find your food triggers. For someone who is energetic and feeling ready to take on a new project, I would recommend the book.I gave the book 3 stars because I have suffered with chronic daily migraine(defined as >15 per month) for 2 years, being treated by a neurologist specializing in migraine. I'm not very energetic, and often nauseated. For a person who needs to cook for herself, I would like something easier. I simply do not have the ability to cook 3 times a day. Assemble, yes. Make in bulk to freeze for another meal, sure. Leftovers are my friend because some days are better than others. At times I cook something nice and love to. For now, I need the least amount of stress possible, so would appreciate an eye toward providing options that would allow migraineurs the ability to continue the program when we aren't well.I am glad to have this in my library for when and if I feel well enough to follow the plan, but that's just not now.

I want to start today with a confession; I suffer from chronic (sometimes called complex) migraines. It's more than just a typical migraine; these headaches are severe enough that I was hospitalized for them and the doctors thought I had a stroke. I've suffered from this now for over a year, and it's robbed me of my life I used to live.To be me again, to grow and change I tried everything I could to fix it. I noticed that no combination of medication was working correctly, and if I did find something, the cost of medicine was too high to keep using it. I needed to go back to the drawing board for myself and find out what would work for me without medications.Why do I tell you guys this? Regarding this book, it's important to know why I purchased it and why I am using it. Now, going into it, I already had a vast knowledge of what my triggers were and what would, or would not work, as far as my diet. I've been suffering for over a year when I purchased the book. That said, there were things in here that helped me to explore the topics more and try some things I'd not considered to be sure if an ingredient was or was not going to trigger a migraine.The Migraine Relief Diet is an excellent book if you are someone suffering from migraines and want to try something outside of just medication and doctors appointments. I highly recommend this as a first step. If you are an expert of sorts of your head, you may consider the cleanse and the early parts of the book to be abrasive and frustrating. I do suggest though, you read through it anyway. Not everything is going to work for you, most of it is suggestions, but the way the recommendations are essential. You can learn a lot from this book, not just about what works for you, but about how to approach the triggers that give you migraines.For me, dairy is a huge migraine trigger, as are environmental factors like weather. I cannot eat beef anymore, and anything with red meat fat can cause an episode. The manual states it is going to presume caffeine is a trigger, and for some folks it is. For me, it is not a trigger, and I use it medicinally to curb my worst symptoms when I feel an attack coming.This book is a beacon of hope if you live with migraines as I do. Again, it's not going to be a one for one perfect fit for you personally, but use it and learn from it. The recipes are tasty, the ideas are sound, and for the most part, it's a great and healthy alternative to other methods of treating migraines.

Lots of great recipes, but for a person having migraines , it is not a realistic plan. Unless you have someone to cook for you, the prep time is undoable. I’m not going to be able to stick to it.

I've had migraines for nearly my entire life. This year, they changed in frequency and type. I only knew of one food trigger, but thought it couldn't hurt to do the diet and see what other ways I could prevent these monsters, while waiting to get in to see a neurologist (a 2 month wait) for treatment. It was easy to follow and recipes weren't at all difficult on days I was okay, but they were tough for days I had a migraine, so I just stuck to the basic rules. I found three major triggers thanks to this book and have already recommend it to others who suffer migraines. I especially think this would be helpful for parents who have kids that get migraines, even if they don't experience them, themselves. Knowing what to avoid has been a crucial part of my treatment and helped reduce my downtime.

Well written and easy to read, this book has useful material about doing an elimination diet to attempt to reduce or eliminate migraines. I have done a partially successful migraine elimination diet before but this had some updated information that I am incorporating into my diet.

As a chronic migraine sufferer, this book has helped me find some recipes that have helped. I have not yet followed the full plan and felt the full benefit, I know this book is one of true healing.

I was really excited about this book, I've had migraines my whole life, As does my daughter. I think if you have a food related migraine it will help. The recipes are simple and delicious. They are unique so you won't find these just googling what to make for dinner!

I think this is a very informative book if you are a sufferer of migraines. My grandma suffered, my mom, and myself and now my 8 year old has been getting them and reading g this book, I discovered, I serve alot of foods that trigger migraines!I love that it has to foods to eat, foods to stay away from and also how to cleanse your body and start fresh!
